9th Street BMX: Pepper Goertz Memorial 6/9/2018

Our good friend and local trail builder Pepper Goertz passed away recently.
He will be greatly missed by the BMX community.

Pepper was dedicated and passionate about BMX trail building. Pepper was a perfectionist with a shovel. He was outspokenly honest and had a great sense of humor.

Pepper raced BMX when he was young, took a decade or so off, then got back into trail riding.
Soon after, Pepper started maintaining and building BMX trails. Pepper paid his dues at 9th Street BMX, Red Box, Walnut Creek Pump Track, and lastly Tejano Trails. His work ethic was inspirational to people. He motivated people to dig through his passion.

There was a great turnout of family, friends, and co-workers at his memorial.
During the memorial, his ashes were spread on Right Slacker Line and ridden into blue groove by his friends. I can't think of a better send off for such a dedicated digger.

9th Street BMX would like to thank all the friends and family who helped with the celebration of Pepper's life.

Much Love and Respect Pepper! You will be missed.
